Fantastic book!

Wow I can't believe no reviews have been written to date for this excellent book. It's kind of a cross between New Breed and the Chapin book, but transcends both with respect to depth of material, gradually unfolding levels of complexity, and, in my opinion, overall practical benefit to the player once he/she masters the progressive coordination goals. This isn't another left-hand/right-foot workout while the right hand does spang-a-lang and the left foot clicks two and four; there is a good deal of focus on snare-hihat and kick-hihat interdependence. If you've worked through the John Riley books you should be able to hit the ground running in the initial coordination modules of this book, but you may find some interesting challenges once you delve further and further into the pages. I really enjoy working through the exercises, and I highly recommend this book for intermediate to advanced drummers.

It's great for someone who knows nothing about hair loss

I have been researching hair loss for a while. The information contained in this book seems to be a compilation of research papers, and not worth the price. There is information on the types of hair loss, but I expected to learn more about SOLUTIONS! Dr. Weaver's basic suggestion is to see a specialist.

Good content, but reader-unfriendly binding

Good: The content is good and the paper is of high quality.

BAD: There is no way to open the book flat (not even close). Two hands plus a deliberate effort are required to keep the book open. This is not a subtle problem. Luckily, there are few photos that span both pages; those that do are mismatched in the middle as no offset from the center has been applied (I don't understand why publishers keep doing this year after year). I don't know if the book could be broken apart and then custom bound, as the inner margins are small.

This book is an excellent purchase for anyone learning German. I am a visual learner and this book really helped me learn grammar because I could visually see the picture with the words I was learning. The book has many photos and use a wide variety of colors. Seeing the images also allows you to know you're using the correct noun when your trying to write a sentence in German. If I learn a third language I will be ordering the book for that language from this company.

This is the Coolest Book Ever for this German-Learner

I am learning German using Rosetta Stone Version 3: German Level 1, 2 & 3 Set with Audio Companion and so total immersion and learning via images and photos works for me. When I started to realize that I needed way more vocabulary than Rosetta Stone was offering me as I visited Berlin, Germany, I remembered that DK offered some awesome visual dictionaries. So, I checked Amazon to see if they have any foreign language visual dictionaries and they have this one and it is completely comprehensive and includes just about every single photo/German word association imaginable, including technical words. It is amazing to just page through and also amusing to see how literal German is, the way they have made a very literal language work in the modern world with modern things.

Introduction to Early Childhood Education: Preschool through

This is the first semester I have used this book. It is a fairly comprehensive book for introducing early childhood preservice teachers to EC curriculum. It covers every area of the curriculum with emphasis on the constructivist perspective. Two areas that I find lacking are the index in the book itself and the teacher's supplement. The index is not comprehensive at all, and the suggested test questions in the supplement are often ambiguous and many times not covered in the book.

Excellent Resource For Study For Praxis II

I used this book to study for my Praxis II in early childhood education. It covers every aspect that you need to know in regard to the basic and founding principles and people.
I love the way the cite primary resources when talking about Zone of Proximal Development, Maturationist, and Constructivist Models.
I passed my Praxis II on the first try with flying colors.

late start to early childhood ;0)

Maybe it's my age or motivational factors, but I can honestly say that I read this textbook from start to finish. It was written in common language, making it easy to comprehend. Systems and theories were repeatedly revisited for continuity per applicable content. Plenty of real life examples were presented to help better explain content. I will keep it handy in my classroom for further reference until DAP is among my every thought and action within the preschool classroom.
