"A gorgeous deluxe edition" The cover certainly is, but that's the only place you'll find Malika Favre's lovely work. This book is not illustrated.

Comparing this Haskar translation from Penguin with the earlier Oxford (2002) translation by Doniger & Kakar: I prefer the Doniger version because it more scholarly with lots of interesting notes, some translated from Sanskrit commentaries, and a good introduction. Both translations are readable, though Haskar has a slight habit of using older diction, such as "abode" and "sexual union" (instead of Doniger's "sex") or "gentleman" instead of "man-about-town." (Of course, this does bring to mind GQ, a good target for his book!) Haskar's introduction briefly discusses the rationale for his translation method: "literary" rather than "literal." The Kama Sutra is not so much a sex manual as it is a source for understanding (male and youth) urban lifestyle at a period in ancient India.

Great Edition - ill treated book

The book is great, beautiful, well bounded and the cover is perfect, the only problem is that it is mate finished and because of that and the storage of the book, the one i received has some marks and scrach marks, it's very superficial but i woud've liked to have it i better state

Delightful, insightful & a pleasure to read

What if your wedding was just a few days away, and a secret from your past suddenly reappears? Just a little sin of omission, something you forgot to tell anyone? This is what happens to Milly, when her wedding photographer is the same person who took casual photos of her as a bride ten years ago, a wedding that she never told anyone about. This was a marriage of convenience with a virtual stranger, and when Milly lost contact with the groom, she decided she could push the entire event far enough out of her mind to make it never exist.

Milly's secret does get told, and she ends up in a maelstrom of hurt feelings and confusion, staring with her fianc�e, Simon. The only son of a self-made wealthy man, Simon struggles with inadequacy and was determined to do one thing better than his father--have the perfect wedding. Milly's mother has been frantically planning the wedding, with much vicarious pleasure in Milly's wealthy future. Meanwhile, Milly's Dad is struggling with a mid-life crisis and her sister Isobel is facing a life changing decision of her own.

In parallel to Milly's personal challenges, she sets off to find her first husband and secure a divorce. This sub-plot adds an entirely different element to The Wedding Girl (no spoiler here!), and adds valuable elements to the story and to development of the characters.

The Wedding Girl is a delightful story with a good mix of happy and sad that will cause the reader to think and enjoy. I always enjoy books by Madeline Wickham aka Sophie Kinsella, and The Wedding Girl reminds me why I look forward to each one being released in the USA.

Great book. Although I am not an engineer, the formulas are helpful for understanding the concepts. Engineers may find the formulas very useful. Good insight from the author's years of building solar cars with students and seeing them try to make the same mistakes over and over. I would like to see the author update with 2009 solar car design information, photos, and more detailed drawings of his school's Solar Miner.

It seems my favorite authors do have books that I just don't like. Earlier this week I read Nichole Chase's Accidental Assassin and that was a major disappointment for me. This book has also turned out to be a huge disappointment.

It was cheesy. I feel like I was reading some unedited crummy story by an inexperienced no-name writer. And boy does that sound harsh. But it's true. I was not impressed. Not at all. This book just doesn't measure up to Jeaniene Frost's level of writing. She has written some marvelous books that I LOVE, but sadly this novella is not one of them.

You know those kindle books you can get for free on Amazon? The ones that you know are gonna be terrible because everything in the way of presentation of the book just screams terrible? But you read it anyway, hoping for something to sate your idle cravings or boredom between books. This novella is like that.

I hate sounding so harsh, but I feel as though I must be honest because I know Jeaniene can do better. I've read better works by her. This must be some sort of blip in her track record. Hopefully Her next book will be better.

Way too short even for a novella. The heroine was filled with angst and then suddenly loves the guy out of nowhere. It was a good start but then it tanked. Drat! Not worth 2 dollars.

but I would still love to see a full length novel about Marlee and ...

This book was originally part of an anthology. However, I went ahead and purchased it because there are extra scenes in this version and ever since this story came out as the anthology I have hoped that Jeaniene Frost would expand upon the story. I felt that I got more closure now an that the story did not just abruptly end, but I would still love to see a full length novel about Marlee and Daniel. Or even other characters in the pack.

My over-all favorite

I have been studying homeopathy for 30 years & when I do not have time to fully repertorize an illness (which is almost NEVER these busy days) this book is my first resource. It seems to cover most acute illnesses & is especially good for treating colds, flu, stings, gas, teething problems, sore throats, etc....

I would like to see a better cross-referenced Index, but the numerous charts supplied somewhat make up for this short-coming - making it pretty easy to locate the problem/illness without too much difficulty. It also contains a nice little Materia Medica in the back -- so if you can't decide between several remedies this will help narrow the choice as it gives the specifics for the remedy as opposed to the main part of the book which gives the recommended remedies for the illiness.

I often back it up withEverybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines by by Dana Ullman - but if I had to choose only one book to purchase I would go with the book I am reviewing.

Another small short-coming of the book is it doesn't cover CELL SALTS as completely as needed (although, to be fair, no "quick-guide" homeopathic book does - with any depth anyway). which is why I would recommend the companion book by Dr. Skye Weintraub: Natural Healing with Cell Salts . Personally, I have found cell salts to work extremely well in conjunction with homeopathic remedies. Even though I practice the principals of classical homeopathy (ONE remedy at a time - changing the remedy until you find the one that works, & change remedies as soon as symptoms change &/or the current remedy no longer works) I still like to combine a homeopathic remedy with a cell salt. (A good example here would be a fever with a flushed face: homeopathic remedy might be Belladonna, and add the cell salt - Ferr Phos.)

Over-all I couldn't give the book 5 stars due to the inadequate Index and less-than-stellar coverage of CELL SALTS, but for my money, this is still a best-bet!

If you are new to homeopathy I can not encourage you enough to pursue this wonderful means of natural healing! And if you are a Christian, I urge you NOT to get hung up on the aspect of energetic healing until you learn more about the principals. I am a Christian who have seen ignorant fellow-Christians shrink at the idea of homeopathics as if they were some kind of voodoo. This is simply a fear-driven response that hopefully will be re-evaluated.

Anyone interested in pursuing the principals of healing through homeopathic medicine, more in-depth, would do well to purchase the book "The Science of Homeopathy" by George Vithoulkas and also get a Materia Medica by Boerricke and a "Repertory" by J. T. Kent. You could also call your local naturopath & ask if they offer classes. Anyone can learn homeopathy. I began when my children were born and they never had to take antibiotics more than once throughout their entire childhoods. They are now all adults who practice homeopathy with their own families, and this is the first homeopathic book I gave them as a gift when they moved into their new homes (along with a basic supply of remedies). Saying Good-Bye to the Pet You Love Book Review

I gave this book only 3 stars; however, to be fair, any book I read on this painful topic probably would get the same. As someone who lost my very first pet after almost 16 years, it is tough for me to say any one book will help soften the pain. This book took me almost 3 months to read but not becasue of the length. I started to read it several times in the days after I lost my dog; however, reading about "how to help" was too difficult at first and I just had to find the right pace for me. The book covers the whole gamut of pet loss; however, I found myself skipping lots of chapters as they did not apply to me (i.e. accidentally killing your pet, giving up a pet, other pets loss, etc.). The best advice I received was through my compassionate, empathetic friends and family who lost pets. It was difficult to bring up and talk about before and after, but I'm glad I did becasue they helped me tremendously. Overall, I would recommend the book becasue it's inexpensive and does provide good tips, guidance, and exercises. It's easy to spend a lot of time in one chapter, but then skip others. It also gives a lot of anecdotes which can put things in perspective.

A must have book.

This book helped me understand my pain and work through it. I was searching for something or someone who could tell me I could move on, and this book saved me. I give this book to every person I know who loses a pet. The last person I gave this to told me it saved her from suicide. I highly recommend you purchase this book if your pet has a terminal illness, or if you've lost your pet. This book helped me like no other.

this is an excellent book for those people who have lost their beloved pet, and had had a very deep and loving bond with them. when their pet means as much to them, as any family member, and their pet passes on, and the pain and sadness that they are experiencing, becomes unbearable, this little book, definitely offers some much needed comfort by explaing to the reader, what they are going thru, and why theyre feeling this kind of desponency,
i highly recommend this book, if a person ever finds themselves in this most unique type of loss and sadness they should definitely purchase this book.
