This is a nice selection of "books" (chapters) of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. The translation by Powell is excellent - knowledgable and poetic. The explanatory material benefits from Powell's own research on the evolution of written Greek (in relation to Homer), as well as recent research by others that has located the original site of Ithaca.

Rich Ling is professor at the IT University of Copenhagen and is also a sociologist at Telenor’s research institute near Oslo, Norway. Previously, he was Pohs Visiting Professor of Communication at the University of Michigan. He is the author of New Tech, New Ties: How Mobile Communication is Reshaping Social Cohesion,and The Mobile Connection: The Cell Phone’s Impact on Society.

Scott W. Campbell is associate professor of communication studies and Pohs Fellow of Telecommunications in the department of communication studies at the University of Michigan. His research has been published in the journals Communication Education, Communication Monographs, International Journal of Communication, Journal of Applied Communication Research, New Media & Society, and others.

Product DOES NOT match the picture. This is not a teacher edition! They need to update the post to match the right product. I am mostly frustrated because I had to pay for the return shipping which was half the price of the book. Grrrr. I would not have wasted my $$ if I knew this was not the product I wanted.

I was also told the picture was provided by Amazon and not the seller - apparently the seller has no control over the picture (I didn't know that). Still, it would be nice if the seller was a bit more descriptive in their description, but I can understand the misconception here. Unfortunately, I did not read the customer reviews before purchasing! This is not a hardcover book and it is not the teacher's edition which is what I needed. Now I need to spend additional money to return a book that I do not need!

A Great Book at a Great Price

I ordered 10 copies of this book, each for under $15 (including tax and shipping) and I was not disappointed. All 10 of the books are basically in like-new condition. I teach Chemistry and this is the textbook I use. When I went to the Lab-Aids website to order more, the book cost was $87 each. Amazon is the way to go!!
