but this novel is awesome. The writing style is simple yet tasteful

So I never played the game, but this novel is awesome.The writing style is simple yet tasteful. It is fast-paced and full of sharp, dark jokes. The plot is entertaining with several unexpected twists.The author does an excellent job evolving Postal Dude’s character. We can all relate to the troubles he has to go through.The question why Postal Dude does what he does at the end of the novel is a very intriguing debate. I wonder if he’s actually out of his mind. Maybe those unknown things he hides from the gangsters (demons, ghosts, monsters, whatever they are) have him under control.
I think the grotesque element works really well throughout. Those creatures Postal Dude encounters in his “visions” are really intimidating. I haven’t read about any such “phantoms” in any other books that come to mind.There is a lot of violence and swearing. I am usually not into that, but it is all justified.This was a very fast and entertaining read. It introduces deep thoughts on the human condition, Christianity, and the structure of modern society.

mind blowing story

Wow, this was really good. Like really disturbing, especially towards the end, but it’s good. So characters: I liked PD, he’s an excellent portrayal of the human internal struggle. He’s popular yet an outsider. He’s got tons of friends and it’s like he is still completely alone, everyone against him. It eventually drives him insane, among other things I’ll leave out cuz I don’t do spoilers. Uncle Dave’s really funny in a very disturbing way. I mean he runs a church/sect that’s obviously Christian, and then he’s also working with Muslim terrorists? I hope to see more of that in part 2. Now this version of Postal also has a whole paranormal/demon thing going on, much like Postal 1, and that’s really cool that they put that back in. It’s a really good blend of lifelike criminal adventures and this fantasy/horror feel. I can’t wait to find out what happened. I mean… last chapter, that can’t be the end of the story, we all know that, at least those of us who played Postal :)

This is possibly one of the best books I have read this year

This is possibly one of the best books I have read this year. Not only does the story flow really well, but it poses a difficult psychological question. I do appreciate the exciting action and plot twists, to be sure, but to me the profound existential problem is the gold of the book. Really, what do you do when your entire life is falling apart and you are pitted against supernatural forces and heartless killers?
Postal is a highly unconventional novel in a very good way. It is both refreshing and thought-provoking.
I am sure that several will read this novel just for the brutal violence and laughs, and I can understand why, but the novel’s value as a literary work should not go overlooked.

A concise and practical guide to the backyard entrepreneur

This handbook is to the point, concise, and - most importantly - practical. A great deal of thought about the workings of flee markets, and other grassroots events in general, went into this piece. The author's focus on the needs of the various participants involved is particularly good. The prose is concise, yet perfectly able to convey a wealth of information that is both to the point and relevent to the frugal entrepreneurs of our time.

Despite the title, this is a well written book, a balanced mix between a story and
a practical guide on how to build something successful starting with almost nothing.
It's a short easy and well organized text, capable of transmitting in the reader all the excitement
of the initiative of two young entrepreneurs.
A story, detailed in all its passages, that lead through a fresh idilic mindset dealing on how people could
afford the problems that arouse in the real world trying to succeed in create something.
Funny and inspiring at the same time.

About the Author
Lawrence Checkett is originally from St. Louis and received his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. While an undergraduate, Checkett helped publish the first student art magazine containing original stories, poems, art, and photography by fellow students. He did graduate work at the University of Missouri-Columbia and Webster University where he received his M.A. degree in Literature. While at Webster University, he was the first assistant editor on the newly created Webster Review, now in its 30th year of production. He has completed post-graduate work through California State University, studying literature, music, architecture, history, and film.

Gayle Feng-Checkett is originally from California and received her B.A. in Comparative Literature and Spanish from the University of Redlands in 1974. She received her M.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from the University of North Dakota and continued her graduate work with studies in Teaching English as a Second Language. Feng-Checkett's special interests in teaching are in Composition, Comparative Literature, and Teaching English as a Second Language.

I'm so disappointed. I love Christmas and believe she is a phenomenal athlete. But c'mon!!!!!! This book is absolute garbage. Ten dollars wasted. I don't believe for 1 second that she adheres to this way of eating and can fuel her body properly. The workouts are a joke. I was expecting so much more substance and it just isn't there. Her daily meals are dangerously low in calories. Anybody can lose weight when eating sub 1000 calories a day. I honestly hope and pray that women with distorted relationships with foods will avoid reading this. Shame on you Christmas for putting out this garbage and blatant lies.

I love Christmas Abbott. She's fun, she's cute, she's Def got a badass body. I really like this book so far but I'm finding it hard to get through as there are so many editing errors! Christmas, honey, fire your editing team, they did a bad ass job. :(

A good easy to understand way of learning about scrum!

I have managed engineering and marketing organizations so I was curious how this methodology could be taken out of one arena into another and produce benefits worth the effort. This book does a good job at explaining how to do it. In this day and age of lengthy books, I found it refreshing that this book simplified the process of explaining the benefits of scrum in a simple and easy to understand manner. I also liked how I could get through the book in less than an hour.

I will definitely take the key learnings from the book as part of a toolkit that I will use with my clients.

Could have been better

First, I want to say I am a huge fan of Jenna's vlog. I find her weekly You Tube posts both informative and inspirational. That's why I hate to say I was a little disappointed in Eve The Awakening. I'm definitely not the target audience for this novel, but I still think some basic story telling elements were lacking, regardless of genre.
The Setting: I never got a futuristic vibe from the book. There were instances where the tech discussed was something in the future, but how far? Some of the events could occur in the present. More effort should have been taken to paint a better picture for the reader.
The characters were a tad cookie-cutter. I would have enjoyed a little more complexity. The relationship between Eve and Jason felt formulaic.
The plot overall was interesting, but it didn't capture my interest enough to make me wish I had the next book in the series.
Having said that, I still may buy the next one in e-book format. Mainly because I really want to like the story because I like the author!
Keep at it Ms. Moreci, I think you have genuine talent, but could use the eye of an experienced content/story editor.

Good Read, For Younger Audience.

This is a great read. By today's standards, it's hard to keep my nose in a book for long, but Moreci's writing has enough character to keep me flipping pages, slowly clocking towards the very distant ending. There's wit, lots of violence and fighting that keeps the chapters exciting between the blurbs of bumpy dialogue between, sometimes, less than tasteful characters.
The bigger cons of the book, cliches. This is a big issue in the first chapters, the main character waking up from dreams to try and make sense of flashbacks and looking into mirrors to describe her physical appearance. Although some cliches in fiction are welcome, even advised, sometimes they feels a bit lazy. Secondly, confusing market. This book is marketed to 'New Adults', but the characters, dialogue, and often story elements seem to be written as would be for a younger audience, pre-teens even (opinion). I suspect these are the kinds of novels Moreci enjoys reading in her free time and perhaps is what persuaded her to take this angle. Characters sometimes feel like cliches, I hate to say. There's the awkward, secretly super-powered girl, her crush, an All-American-Bimbo and too many of the side characters feel like reincarnations of old side characters to constantly remind the reader that Chimeras are mistreated and dissecting aliens are bad, as if it wasn't apparent enough that every alien species is going to dissect and probe you now a days (cliche galore, I know). My final con is that there's little to no mystery after the first few chapters. The world comes together, the plot is formed, the heroine is chosen and it's pretty obvious where she's going from there. Knowing where the book is going is death for a reader.

For a first book, this is a great achievement, and I can't wait to see where Moreci is going. If she rationed out the story to more characters, gave the reader another lens to look through and increased the intricacy and amount of complex characters, this would have easily been 5 stars from me.

I was actually very disappointed with this book

I was actually very disappointed with this book, as I am a big fan of Jenna's vlogs about writing advice, but I can't help but feel like she didn't take a lot of her own advice. I found many of the characters very stereotypical and clich�. The mean bimbo rich girl and her side kick, the awkward protagonist and her cocky love interest, the oh-so-quirky friends. These all felt too unoriginal to me, and I couldn't get attached to any of them. I also felt like there were a lot of stereotypical scenes that you would find in a teen novel. They meet by bumping into each other, she surprises cocky guy with how tough she is. She looks in mirror to describe how she looks. I also though the fact that she was forced to tutor him was a lazy way of having them spend time together, and something I've seen in countless other books. There was some funny dialog in this book, and I can definitely see potential in Jenna's writing, but this one wasn't for me.
